Kawasaki police motorcycles?

I'm wanting to take off the fairing on my 1999 kawasaki 1000 police motorcycle and convert it to a standard headlight assembly. Does anyone know what my options are? Does anybody have pictures of similar work done? Thank you for any responses.|||One of the things I did in my long and illustrious career was ride police motorcycles for ten years on the Wichita, KS department. All of the bikes I rode were the KZ1000P model with fairing. And the guy that said they can be a wiring nightmare was right...most departments have a "mechanic" who hooks up whatever they buy, which is usually whatever they can get the cheapest...however...I would not think just hooking up lights and turn signals would be too much of a chore. KZ1000 standard parts should work and some police models did not use the fairing, so some salvage dealers might have those. I would Google "motorcycle salvage dealers" and start there...Kenny ;o)|||i think it's basically a kz1000, parts off one them should work.|||They were KZ1000s with a bunch of junk hung on them.

You will need a headlight and turn signals to replace what comes off with the fairing.

Warning: unless you are good with electrical/wiring problems you may be in for a hard time. Almost all of them had the warning lights and radios hooked up by whoever the police department could find. Lots of the electrical systems were badly hacked up.
