Can I ship my motorcycle (Kawasaki Ninja 250r) lying down if I drain the oil from it first?

I know it's bad to drop a bike, but if I drain the oil from the bike first, would it be a problem if I wanted to ship the bike lying down. I don't really have the money to buy a trailer and having it shipped is going to cost in the neighborhood of $500. I have a truck, but the truck has a cab on the back, so I wanted to lay the bike down in the back and ship it that way.

Thanks for your help in answering my question!|||i wouldent do it if it was my bike its going to get all scratched up at the lest

take the cab off the truck|||Oil drained, any and all vital features of the bike, clutch lever, shifting lever, mirrors, etc, anything that may be destroyed or damaged needs to be protected. Protect the front and rear tires from the rims to be bent in any way and of course secure the bike well for the trip however long it may be.

Hope it helps.

Out|||Hell of a way to ship a bike but ya gots to use what ya got I spose. Brake fluid, gasoline and battery should also be drained. If you can remove the gas tank and wrap it up in a movers blanket to keep it from getting smashed. If you can remove the cap and retrieve it later that might be preferable and actually simpler. Good Luck
