I'm think about getting my first bike like a lil 250. Both Kawasaki and Honda has one for the same about the same price. i know Honda is a reliable car but when it comes to bikes i just don't know and Kawasaki has the ninja! What do you think?|||The answers already posted are definitely on target. They are both excellent makes. The bikes differ in subtle ways. Honda technology and engineering is perhaps more advanced than Kawasaki, due in large measure to Honda's more diverse investment in racing, both cars and motorcycles.
That said, some argue that Kawasaki engines have always had a bit of an edge on Honda. So to me, it is less a question of brand, and more a question of personal taste. That is, how does the bike look to you and feel to you? And finally, if it seems a toss-up to you based on the bikes, do a little research on your local dealer. If there is a great Kawasaki dealer nearby with a great service department, and that is not the case with the Honda, go with the Kawasaki, and vice versa.
One last spin on things - seems to me riders often tend to become kind of loyal to one brand or another (like there are Chevy people and Ford people and Dodge people)... There are passionate Kawi folks and passionate Honda folks... but if you're neither, and thinking about which company you like better, I have to give an enthusiastic nod to Honda.
The Honda company is one of the great stories in motorcycling, manufacturing, and racing. Their history, and what Soichiro Honda has contributed to the worlds of racing and motorcycling is really special and very interesting.
I live near the Honda plant in Ohio, and what they do there, quality wise and community wise, is exemplary. For sure, pick the motorcycle you like and that suits you... but all else being equal, I'd wave a banner for Honda any day of the week.
Check out the links below, if interested in Honda, especially the third one on "The Power of Dreams"... fantastic short videos.|||Each bike has pros and cons, and different riding positions and different levels of reliability to performance. You have to find a happy medium between what you want and what you can sacrifice, the riding position between the two bikes is the only thing that will drastically make the bike either something you like or hate. Flop onto both of them and see how you feel and go from there.|||Both brands have a solid reputation.
The only reason I would recommend a Honda over another is that they have been so good to me.
I have not owned a Kawasaki.
Edit: Kawasaki makes more than bikes: http://www.khi.co.jp/english/index.html
I have been able to source Honda parts from a dealer for bikes over 20 years old.|||they both compete each year to have the fastest and the best bikes in my opinion they are both good so you should go with what you like, take each one for a test ride and see how they feel to you a 250 is a really small bike it depends on your body size, myself I wouldn't be able to comfortably ride one if you are a child just learning then i t would be great beginner bike|||Both manufacturers produce an excellent bike. This wil lbe a matter of choice for you as you cannot go wrong with either bike. Good luck and good riding. Remember repsect the bike and drive defensively.|||i would say go with the Kawasaki because the only thing they specialize in is bikes. honda make cars and all sorts so i would think the kawasaki is the better bike.|||i have never had a Kawasaki so cannot comment on there bikes . but i have owned Honda's . they make a solid reliable honest bike . one i owned for four years and only gave trouble once . avoid Chinese bikes !|||Honda cbr, I started with a 600, I thought it was going to be to much power but it was perfect. You'll get bored with a 250 in a few months|||Both are fine manufacturers but I'd say that Honda has a better after-sale service program.
In other words, you can find or order Honda parts more readily.|||Definitely go Honda, they have a better reputation and are easier to fix and cheaper parts.|||Honda. For a number of reasons. The biggest...reliability.|||It doesn't matter a whole bunch. They are both solid brands. Kawi has the ninja and honda has the CBR.|||Honda. Easier to get parts and repairs.|||I've owned both, go with the Honda.
