I've been in love with the Kawasaki Ninja (250 I think?) ever since I saw Max driving one on the old Dark Angel series.
I'm soon going to be out on my own and if I get a nice starting salary (fingers crossed) I want to look into getting one.
My problem is I don't have any friends/family who own or have ever owned a motorcycle, so my knowledge of them is painfully limited. I don't have anyone to teach me, so I think if I go through with it and get a permit I would deffinetly take classes.
Is it going to be hard for me to learn to drive and maintain? I have a license for a car but I've only ever driven automatics.
Also, can anyone name some decent places to look into buying one in Canada? In the East or West, seeing how I live in the East and will be soon moving out West.
Thanks in advance!|||I believe a Ninja is somewhat larger than a "250"!
And I would Not recommend a Ninja as a first motorcycle.
A 250 of any make, maybe, but not a Ninja.
Also, the term is, RIDE a motorcycle, not "drive".

I am not sure if Canada has MSF riding courses, but I bet you do. Look into taking an MSF course. It will give you confidence and help you be a safe rider. I am looking to buy a user Ninja 250 too..I am a girl, too...they are great beginner bikes...and that doesnt mean you have to move up to a litrebike, its all up to you. I would be fine sticking to a 250 for years...go ahead and read that site. I cant give you any info about Canadian shops...internet search will help with that. Also, used Ninjas are $3300ish...and can be resold when/if you need for nearly the same price. So you get your money back, not a bad deal. Also check out sportbikes.net Forum and kawiforums.com.....great resources. I have been reading them for weeks and its probably going to be ages before I can afford a bike of my own (I'm a full time college student at the mo)
take care|||THE KAWASAKI 250 NINJA IS A VERY DEPENDABLE
RIDE. BUT IT WOULD BE BETTER ON YOUR WALLET
IF YOU LOOKED INTO A USED MODEL , OFTEN TIMES
SOME NEW RIDERS RUSH INTO A 250 PURCHASE
AND THEN FIND THAT THEY OUTGREW THE SMALL
ENGINE SIZE. IF YOU LOOKED INTO YOUR DEALER
YOU MIGHT FIND A GOOD DEAL WHEN SOMEONE
TRADED UP. AS FAR AS LEARNING TO RIDE AND
SHIFTING YOU COULD LEARN THAT A COUPLE OF WEEKENDS AT THE MS FOUNDATION COURSE.
I'M NOT SURE IF THEY OFFER THAT OPTION IN CANADA.
GOOD LUCK. ALSO BUY USED AND MAYBE AVOID
THE WORDS LIKE "NINJA", "KATANA", GSXR THESE
WORDS ARE LOVED BY YOUR INSURANCE COMP.|||Hi:Sounds Like You Need A Course In Riding Motorcycles. To Begin With,Can You Move Both Hands And Both Feet At The Same Time? You Need To To Be Able To Ride A Motorcycle. You Need To Be Able To Shift Gears,Which Requires 1 Hand And 1 Foot. Then You Need To Be Able To Stop,Which Requires 1 Hand And 1 Foot. And Then You Have The Throttle[Gas] Which Is Usually On The Right Hand. And That's Just To Start,And You Think It's Easy Huh???Takes Fast Reflexes,Quick Decision Making And Right Now Judgement.Things Happen VERY Fast On A Motorcycle.Have To Have Eyes That See EVERYWHERE At Once.Do You Think A Second Is Long???????Because On A Motorcycle,In A SPLIT SECOND You Could Be Dead.If This Didn't Scare You,And You Think That You Would Like To Ride,Contact Me At hottonite2005@yahoo.com And I'll Tell You More,Or Try To Teach You More About It.Let Me Know Who You Are.OK,Later.|||Its a good starter bike, Also you need to take that class its about 200$ but they will teach you and help you get the license but not the written.
