How to correctly set oil pump on Kawasaki kmx125 motorcycle.?

I have a KMX 125 '88, its a stroke automatic mixing, but is mixing too much oil making it extremely smokey.Anyone know correct setting/adjustment on oil pump??|||How much smoke is too much smoke, is the question?

Yes, clean out the exhaust.

Remember that as a bike warms up it should smoke less.

If you were to get setting the oil pump wrong or too low the engine will seize, which is allot worst that some smoke.

Only adjust the oil pump if the bike is using lots of two stroke oil. Forget about smoke and try and to see and estimate how much two stoke oil is used per tank full of petrol. i.e if it uses about 100cc of oil per 5000cc (5 litres) of petrol that is 2% which is not bad. If the oil comsumption is much much higher (if it is really far too high the spark plug would foul and oil up and stop sparking and the bike would run). Then there is normally a mark on the pump cable wheel that ligns up with a mark of pin on the engine when the throttle is turned to full open. Adjusting the cable adjuster opens the pump more or less so as the marks lign up.

Some oils will smoke more that others.... warm the bike up and ride it hard on full throttle for a while to see if if clears the smoke and if the smoke s less.

I hope that helps you.|||trial and error id turn in 1/4 of a complete turn until it suits you, before you do that have you thought the exhaust could also be the reason it could need burning out with caustic soda easy to do take the silencer off cork it and fill with caustic soda and cold water stand it for a couple of hours and tip into a container you will be amaised at the crap that can remove it will give you better back pressure and far less smoke i say the latter cos auto oilers do not suddenly change their settings hope that has helped you
